Head Coach

 

Coach Robert, a Mobile, AL native, began his diving journey at the tender age of 7. With over 15 years of competitive diving experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the pool deck. As a former USA National-level diver, he boasts an impressive record, including five consecutive state championships in Alabama. In 2012, he reached the pinnacle of his competitive career, achieving a top-20 national ranking in the Senior division.

 

Coach Robert's dedication to the sport extends beyond his own accomplishments. He served as an Assistant Coach with Port City Diving for five years, nurturing the next generation of divers. Since joining HDA in 2020, he has been instrumental in elevating the program to new heights, striving to create a top-tier diving experience for all athletes.

 

Coach Robert is committed to safety and professional development. He is Safe Sport certified through USA Diving and holds coaching memberships with both the AAU and USA Diving. He maintains his lifeguard certification and actively participates in continuing education programs to stay abreast of the latest diving techniques and best practices. Furthermore, he collaborates with other esteemed coaches across the Southeast, including those in Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia, to ensure that his coaching methods remain at the forefront of the sport.

 

Coach Robert's philosophy centers on individual growth and achievement. He strives to understand each diver's unique strengths and weaknesses, providing personalized guidance and support to help them reach their full potential.

Megan Barnett

Assistant Coach

 

Coach Megan graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2003, where she was a distinguished collegiate diver. As a member of the Women's Swim and Dive team, she competed in both springboard and platform events. Her successful collegiate career culminated in representing the USA at the World Military Games in 2003. Prior to her appointment with HDA, Coach Megan developed her coaching expertise at Falls Church High School and Army Navy Country Club. She joined HDA in November 2024, serving as both a coach and a diver.
